F.A.Q
Hopefully you will find the answer to your question here, but if not please drop me a message either on the contact page, WhatsApp or Phone me.
Where Can I see your stock ?
My current stock can be found on my store page, I can then bring items to you to look at with no obligation to buy in the ME postcode area, or you can make an appointment to visit me in Gillingham, Kent.
Do you have a shop ?
No ! To offer the best prices I work from home on a semi retired basis, I do not want to pay for or sit in a shop 8 hours a day waiting for a customer to come through the door, I would rather be available to come to you to make sure you are advised correctly. I do have a storage unit that you can visit to try out scooters as I am aware that not everyone wants tradesmen visiting their homes, but do not expect a posh showroom, I usually advise that we bring a scooter to you so you can see if it suits your house, area etc.
Can you service or repair my scooter ?
No ! This is a service I have offered in the past, but as I get older and approach retirement myself and in what seems to be a more throw away world where the repairs are becoming as expensive as replacing the scooter it seems to be an option that certainly has become less popular with customers over the past couple of years. So I have decided this is no longer a viable option for me to provide when you can get a replacement scooter cheaper than parts and labour.
I have a scooter that needs new batteries, can you come and fit them ?
Yes, I can fit batteries to all Mobility Scooters and Powerchairs, but I point you to the previous question and draw your attention to the fact that replacing the batteries on mobility scooters start at £150 and go up to in excess of £700 for some of the lithium batteries.
Some batteries are available from stock and some have to be ordered in, but I can check that you require new batteries before we order or fit them for a battery test charge of £45 which includes me coming out to you.
I have seen cheap batteries online, why are yours more expensive ?
Long and short is that you pay for quality and safety, cheap batteries are exactly that, they do not make your scooter run at its best, can cause damage to your scooter and often fail, cheap lithium batteries can simply be dangerous as can cheap chargers.
I use top quality Strident Batteries which provide reliability and safety, these same batteries are fitted to any of my sales scooters that require new batteries before being sold.
Lithium batteries should also be replaced if they are dropped as this causes fractures in the cells
I would like a fold up scooter, are they heavy ?
On the whole the more you pay the lighter they are, the weight depends on what the frame is made of, what type of battery it has and how many functions are in the scooter, if you want a scooter that you just push a button and it all folds up, that involves extra motors and parts , so these can weigh anything up to 30 kg but if you have a scooter that manually folds we can get these down to 15 kg.
Why should I buy my scooter from you ?
Having been in the trade for many years I can advise you of the most suitable scooter for you, if you buy the wrong type of scooter you can feel unsafe and unstable meaning a lack of confidence which can make you feel trapped in your home.
Having a scooter should bring enjoyable benefits and not fill you with terror.
You also get a 30 day warranty and after sales backup.
How do I pay you ?
I ALWAYS recommend that you pay ANY tradesman by Credit card as that gives you full protection from your card supplier, and as I am a tradesman you should ideally regard me no differently.
NEVER PAY A TRADESMAN OF ANY DESCRIPTION CASH AND IF THAT US THE ONLY WAY THAT ACCEPT PAYMENT, DO NOT USE THEM.
PLEASE !!
The world has changed and cards and banks are there to protect you and your money from the many scammers and con men.
Customers of mine say to me that they can tell I am genuine by the way I talk to them, the best scammers talk a good game.
Do you mind if I have a neighbour with me when you bring a scooter to me ?
I actively encourage it.
It is always best to have someone with you if you feel you need to, who has your best interest at heart and can help you make an informed decision. Dont rush your purchase, take time to think about what you have been shown. I do not come to you to SELL you a scooter, I come to Show you them and point out the up sides and the down sides of each item to enable you to make an informed decision.
